Psychotherapy & Psychology

Psychotherapy and Psychology refers to a range of therapy approaches that can help people with mental health problems, emotional challenges, physical conditions without apparent medical cause, problematic behaviours and other related conditions including trauma.

Psychotherapy is a very individual experience which can help you to develop greater insight and self understanding that promotes improved interpersonal functioning and healthier relationship dynamics.  Over time, it helps you to respond to difficult challenges in life with better coping strategies.  Put simply, psychotherapy aims to cultivate a more compassionate and fulfilling life with less struggle or suffering, whilst achieving better connections to self and others.

Family Therapy

Family therapy provides a range of systemic psychotherapies that assists families to develop new and different ways of being together.  It supports families to improve communication, resolve conflicts and relationship repair as needed. Family Therapy is often short term and may include some or all family members. The therapy approach used in sessions is dependent on the individual needs of your family.  It can help your family to manage stress and adjust to change by teaching you skills to strengthen relationships and build resilience to cope through difficult times.

Play Therapy

Play Therapy helps children work through emotional, behavioural and developmental difficulties through the use of toys and creative materials. Play is the natural language of children and as their experiences are often communicated through play, it becomes an important vehicle for them to know and accept themselves and others. The Play therapist works at the pace of the child to support them to express their thoughts, feelings and explore relationships in a safe nurturing space.

Play therapy provides a wonderful opportunity for early intervention to enhance the development of a child’s social and emotional growth.
